FARGO (KFGO KVRR) – Severe thunderstorms brought large amounts of rain and strong winds across the region late Monday night into Tuesday morning.
In Fargo, city crews were busy cleaning up debris from trees and branches that fell across streets and boulevards. A large portion of a tree was blocking traffic in both directions along 14th Ave. S. near Olivet Lutheran Church. Another tree that was believed to be struck by lightning was being cleaned up on 18th Ave. South.
The Fargo-Moorhead area received between a 1/2 inch to about an inch of rain.
About 1.5 inches fell in Grand Forks with a report of 1.54. inches near Battle Lake, Minn. There were reports of more than 4 inches of rain in the Crookston, Minn. area.
