BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO) – Incumbent Kirsten Baesler and former state legislator Jason Heitkamp will move on to the November election in North Dakota’s Superintendent of Public Instruction race.
Baesler was the top vote-getter by a wide margin with Heitkamp coming in second.
Baesler thanked her family, friends, and supporters as she prepares to face Heitkamp in the general election.
“Without you, our success would not have been possible,” Baesler said. “I’m committed to working hard with you all again as we secure another victory in November. Our students, families, and teachers deserve nothing less.”
Republican-endorsed candidate and home-schooling proponent Jim Bartlett finished third, while Darko Draganic was fourth.
