
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO) – A six-year-old girl seriously injured in a crash west of Grand Forks Monday evening has died.
The Highway Patrol says the girl was in a car that was stopped at a red light and rear-ended by a pickup at the intersection of U.S. Highway 2 and Airport Road.
The girl from Grand Forks Air Force Base was airlifted to a Fargo hospital where she died Wednesday. Nicole Louthain, 26 also from Grand Forks Air Force Base, was driving the car and also seriously injured. She was taken to Altru in Grand Forks.
The driver of the pickup, 43-year-old Travis Bell of Fordville, North Dakota, was arrested after failing field sobriety and breathalyzer tests.
Bell was charged with criminal vehicular injury. Those charges are now pending.
