GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO) – Court records show that the Fordville, North Dakota man arrested after an injury crash west of Grand Forks Monday night was over the legal limit for alcohol in his system.
Travis Bell, 43, has been charged for criminal vehicular injury.
A North Dakota Highway Patrol trooper says Bell, who was driving a pickup, told him he thought he had a green light, but didn’t remember much. A witness told the trooper that he was parked at a red light at the intersection of Highway 2 and Airport Road and the pickup didn’t slow down before the crash.
The trooper says Bell had watery eyes and smelled like alcohol. After a field sobriety test, the trooper gave Bell three breath tests reading .123%, .130%, and .128%.
Nicole Louthain, 26 of Grand Forks Air Force Base, and a six-year-old girl were seriously injured in the crash.
