RICE COUNTY, Minn. (KFGO) – The Rice County Sheriff’s Office says no one was injured after a group of canoes and kayaks capsized on the Cannon River.
Three adults and six young people were going from Two Rivers Park in Faribault to Northfield on Saturday. Two canoes got tangled with some trees floating in the river and overturned, and a young person in a kayak also capsized while trying to help.
Those in the water held on to the trees until they were rescued. The sheriff’s office says everyone in the group was wearing life jackets.
