GLYNDON, Minn. (KFGO) – A fatal car crash on I-94 east of Moorhead backed up traffic for several hours Friday afternoon.
The Minnesota state patrol says just after 3:30, 64-year-old Micheal Wimme from Marco Island, Florida, was driving west on I-94 when his SUV went off the road, hit a cable barrier, and then hit a semi.
A 90-year-old woman from Stevens Point, Wisconsin was killed. Another woman from Stevens Point, Jean Stroik, 91, was taken to a Fargo Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Wimme and 66-year-old Michele Wimme, also from Marco Island, were not injured. The driver of the semi was also not injured.
Westbound I-94 was at a standstill for several hours because of the crash.
