ST. PAUL, Minn. – Starting next year, Minnesotans will have more ways to buy hunting and fishing licenses.
Most licenses will be available in both digital or print-at-home formats.
“We are actually coming into the 21st century,” director of Minnesota DNR Enforcement Rodmen Smith said. “It’s going to be a lot of app-based stuff. So, there are going to be a lot of folks that will still be able to buy licenses at a bait store or something like that, but the majority of it will be app-based”
Smith said they are also adding an online event management system so people can find, enroll, and pay for education and safety training classes and print duplicates of safety certificates. Once safety certifications are passed, licenses can be purchased immediately through the same system.
