
Multiple injuries in Clay Co. crash (Ryan Janke, KFGO News)
FELTON, Minn. (KFGO) – Multiple injuries are reported in a collision between an SUV and bottom-dump gravel trailer in Clay County.
Deputies, several state troopers and other first responders rushed to the intersection of State Highway 9 and 90th Avenue S. of Felton at about 10:20 a.m. Thursday where a gravel truck and an SUV were involved in a t-bone style crash.
Four children from Crookston were in the SUV and were taken to the hospital. 5-year-old Bo Hoppe had life-threatening injuries. 14-year-old Kai Hoppe, 12-year-old Elijah Hoppe, and 8-year-old Ezra Hoppe were all taken to Sanford in Fargo with non-life-threatening injuries.
State Patrol Sgt. Jesse Grabow says the kids were transported by both ground and air.
The driver of the SUV, 41-year-old Tansey Hoppe from Crookston, was injured but was not taken to a hospital. Another woman, 67-year-old April Rugland from Roseau, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the semi, 22-year-old Lucentio Lopez from Pharr, Texas, was not injured.
