FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO) – The results of Tuesday’s special election in Fergus Falls are in and the bond issue for a new 3rd through 5th grade elementary school failed.
The unofficial total was 1,341 in favor, and 2,262 against the referendum.
Superintendent Jeff Drake emphasized the district’s ongoing dedication to addressing the needs of its students. he says although the proposal was not approved, the district will “continue to work to ensure the students receive a high-quality education in safe and nurturing environments.”
The new school cost was set at nearly $55 million and would have replaced two elementary schools built in 1939.
