FARGO REACHES CLARK CUP FINAL FOR SECOND STRAIGHT SEASON; PLAYS DUBUQUE.

The Force had to deal with major adversity in the Western Conference Semifinals vs. Sioux City last round. Down two games to one, the Force won two consecutive win-or-go-home games to advance to the Clark cup finals. Head coach Brett Skinner speaks about the team battling through that series en route to the teams second straight appearance in the finals.
“I think when you get in that situation it brought out the best in the kids as you reflect on it,” said Skinner. “I don’t think there was a sense of panic from our group. Obviously, there should be a belief based on the success they had, but for the kids, it is a quick series. Our process was not too far off and I think we found a way to elevate our game and get to our best in those last two games.”
Now the Force take on the Dubuque Fighting Saints. The Saints are the number one seed in the Eastern Conference and the two teams split their two regular season matchups this season.
Coach Skinner speak on the challenge ahead of winning the title this year after falling just short a season ago.
“Dubuque is very good team,” said Skinner. “That seems to happen when you get to the Finals. They are very good offensively, are going to be able to make plays, very good off the rush, they defend well and they have a very good goalie. We are looking at the game in front of us. We are looking at coming out and playing to our identity and following our process as closely as we can.”
Forward Mac Swanson adds on that last year was the past, and this group is ready to bring home the Cup this season.
“It is going to take everybody,” said Swanson. “We cannot have any passengers. We will need everybody on our roster to help out in some way and just play as a team and hopefully we can get it done this year.”
