WASHINGTON (KFGO/KVRR) — North Dakota will receive nearly $29 million from the federal government to identify and replace lead service lines.
The funding is from the Environmental Protection Agency as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law signed by President Biden.
EPA Regional Administrator KC Becker says lead can cause a range of serious health impacts, including irreversible harm to brain development in kids. Becker says everyone deserves access to clean drinking water.
Biden has committed to replacing every lead pipe in the country.
