FARGO (KFGO) โ Two people were arrested Tuesday following a large police presence in south Fargo.
Officers with the Metro Area Street Crimes Unit had been searching for Joshua Steckroat, 39, for outstanding warrants, and learned heโd been living in a garage in the 3000 block of 18th St. S. in Fargo.
When officers arrived to that adress around 1:30 Tuesday afternoon, Steckroat ran into the garage. Officers forced their way into the garage and found 35-year-old Rebecca Wilkin, Fargo, inside. A police K9 searched the garage, but could not get Steckroat out because he had barricaded himself in the rafters.
Police pepper sprayed him, and were able to get him out.
Steckroat was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated, and then taken to the Cass County Jail.
He was arrested for preventing arrest, and warrants for probation violation, driving under suspension, fleeing, and failure to pay child support.
Wilkin was arrested for an outstanding warrant for marijuana possession.
