CASS COUNTY, N.D. (KFGO) – Five people were injured in a crash at an intersection approximately 6 miles south of Horace on Monday around 9:40 a.m.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says 37-year-old Breanne Kostrzewski of Hickson was driving west on County Road 18 and didn’t stop at the stop sign at the intersection. A pickup towing a trailer pulling a mini-excavator was headed south on County Road 17 and tried to avoid Kostrzewski’s SUV, but the two vehicles crashed in the intersection.
The pickup went into the ditch and rolled onto its passenger side. The SUV also went into the ditch but remained upright.
Kostrzewski and two children, ages 13 and 10, had non-life-threatening injuries. They were taken to Essentia Hospital by Kindred Ambulance. First responders treated the two men in the pickup at the scene and were not transported to the hospital.
Kostrzewski was cited for running a stop sign.
