WATERTOWN, S.D (KFGO KWAT) – Sanford Health has positioned itself to make a major move into Watertown in the future.
The medical provider has purchased just under 10 acres of land for approximately $3.5 million.
The land was bought in early January by a limited liability company, which in turn transferred it to Sanford at no cost.
Cindy Mydland, the director of Sanford Health Watertown Clinic, said “Sanford Health continues to invest in the communities it serves by providing convenient care close to home. Sanford recently purchased land in the eastern part of Watertown. As the community of Watertown continues to grow, we want to ensure we are there for our patients by providing excellent access to health care. As of today, we have no immediate plans for the land and continue to look at ways to best serve Watertown and the surrounding communities.”
Sanford Health is a nonprofit health care provider headquartered in Sioux Falls, with hospitals and clinics in Fargo and Bismarck and Bemidji, Minnesota and elsewhere across the region.
