BUFFALO, MINN. – A Minnesota author is out with a historic crime novel based in St. Paul during the Prohibition era of the 1920s.
Nate Granzow of Buffalo says “Black Cordite, White Snow” is the story of two Danish American brothers, World War 1 veterans, who smuggle machine guns from the battlefields of France to the U.S.
Granzoe says with intent to sell them to mobsters. That’s their con. And naturally, they realize very quickly they’re in well over their head, and have to fight to keep themselves out of prison or from being robbed or killed while trying to secure their payday.
He says the book is fiction, but it is set against a factual backdrop in St. Paul and real characters of that time are part of the storyline.
“Black Cordite, White Snow” is available online or at local stores.
