FARGO (KFGO) – The vote was 4-0 as the Fargo City Commission, in a special meeting, approved a one-day liquor license suspension for the Windbreak Bar on 32nd Ave. S and I-29.
The decision came after a police investigation determined that a customer was served 14 shots or drinks in just over 90 minutes last Oct. He had difficulty standing and was helped to the parking lot. He did not drive. Windbreak lawyer tim O’Keeffe says the bar is making changes and is trying to do things right.
Commissioner Dave Piepkorn says he thinks the one-day suspension is too lenient. Piepkorn favored an indefinite license suspension. He called the Windbreak, a danger to the community.
Commissioner Denise Kolpack says there’s no question that the man was overserved and it was a violation of the Windbreak’s liquor license.
