GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO) – The North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services says people who ate at the University of North Dakota Memorial Union Chick-Fil-A between Jan. 15 and Feb. 7 may have been exposed to Hepatitis A – a contagious liver infection.
Hepatitis A was confirmed in a food worker at the restaurant.
People who ate at the restaurant at the following dates and times may have been exposed:
- January 15, 2024: 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.
- January 16, 2024: 11 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.
- January 17, 2024: 5 p.m. – 9:45 p.m.
- January 22, 2024: 5 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
- January 23, 2024: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- January 24, 2024: 5 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
- January 26, 2024: 5 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
- February 4, 2024: 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
- February 6, 2024: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- February 7, 2024: 5 p.m. – 8:45 p.m.
The department says it can take between 15 and 50 days to develop symptoms. Symptoms include fever, tiredness, loss of appetite, nausea, abdominal discomfort, dark urine, pale stools, or yellowing of the skin or eyes.
People who are not vaccinated for Hepatitis A and may have been exposed should contact their health care provider.
There will also be a free Hepatitis A vaccine clinic Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at UND Memorial Union.
