FARGO (KFGO) – Former North Dakota state Senator and businessman Tom Campbell says he will seek the Republican nomination for the U.S. House of Representatives.
Campbell, who had previously expressed interest in running for governor, tells KFGO’s Joel Heitkamp that after Kelly Armstrong, the state’s current congressman, announced that he will run for governor earlier this week, Campbell switched gears and decided to run for the House seat.
The 64-year-old Campbell is the co-founder of Campbell Farms in Grafton and served as a member of the state Senate from 2012 to 2018, representing District 19.
Also seeking Republican support will be former State Rep. Rick Becker of Bismarck. Trygve Hammer of Minot has announced for the Democratic nomination.
