Doug Burgum has sold his soul. It was his soul to sell, but nonetheless, he sold it. We don’t know what price he charged for it, but hopefully it wasn’t as cheap as the chance to stand on a stage with his orange god. Hopefully, it was worth a Cabinet position or Vice Presidency. We just don’t know yet. And if Trump loses, we may never know the cost.
This week, Governor Burgum announced that he no longer wanted to be Governor of North Dakota. He told us all that he would not seek a third term as our Governor. He ended any and all speculation on whether he was all in on Trump. Trump being a man already found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman and paying off a porn star. Those are just two of the many trials he’s currently facing.
During his announcement, Governor Burgum broke down crying. He cited time away from his family as the biggest price he has to pay as Governor. He compared his service to that of the military. Let’s get a couple things straight: To compare any sacrifice he may have made to a soldier on foreign soil putting their life on the line is ridiculous, and some would argue repulsive. For him to say he’s worried about time lost with his family, right after running for a job that would have taken him much further away for four more years, is foolish.
Doug Burgum doesn’t want to be here. He doesn’t want to live in North Dakota. And he doesn’t do his job. For those reasons and more, he needs to resign. Burgum hasn’t governed or been present in months, and I’ll give you an example. North Dakota lost two police officers in the line of duty. One to a murderous butcher in Fargo, and the other to a drug addict in rural, Western North Dakota. Burgum didn’t attend either of those funerals. He wouldn’t leave his national campaign to show those families that North Dakota cares.
It’s time for Doug to quit the job he quit doing months ago. It’s time for him to send home the highway patrolmen we’re paying for to follow him around.
After all, a man with no soul, is a man that shouldn’t govern.
Good riding with you,
Joel
Not to support Doug or anything but will the next person in office really be any different? One person will never change politics as a whole. Politics are to keep things the same, not change them. Go ahead, vote for someone “better ” to turn north dakota into the next Hollywood and Wall Street with the Taj mahal right down town. They can hide inside all day so they don’t get seen flirting with another girl which would totally please God…
You people have too much time to bitch and cry about everything 🤦. The only enemies are in your head. Just relax.. You’ll be ok
