ST. PAUL, Minn. – Minnesotans struggling to pay their utility bills are encouraged to apply for assistance through the state’s Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program.
U.S. Sen. Tina Smith says the money can be used for furnace repairs or replacements or toward your monthly heating bill.
“If you end up using this assistance to lower your energy costs, what happens is that the bill you get from your power company is reduced and it can be up to $1,400 dollars over the year,” Smith says.
