Erin Brousseau (Cass Co. Jail)
FARGO (KFGO) – A Mapleton, North Dakota woman has been sentenced in the death of her best friend while the two were on a golf cart in Mapleton last July.
A Cass County District Court Judge sentenced Erin Brousseau in connection with the death of Ashley Tangedal, 37.
Brousseau, who had been drinking, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor-reckless endangerment. The original charge was a felony, criminal vehicular homicide. Brousseau spent three days in jail. The joint sentencing recommendation did not include any additional jail time. Brousseau was ordered to pay about $13,000 to the estate of Tangedal.
Tangedal fell from the golf cart on July 15 and died at a Fargo hospital four days later.
