FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO) – Fergus Falls Public Schools went into a Code Red lock-down at about noon Monday because of phoned-in threats.
Public Safety Chief Kile Bergren said it was a hoax, similar to the one that the Fergus Falls Public Library received last week.
School Superintendent Jeff Drake released a statement to parents saying Kennedy Secondary School, Adams and Cleveland Elementary Schools each received a call. The caller threatened to shoot through the schools windows. Police, Otter Tail County deputies and state troopers responded to schools throughout the city.
Drake said students are safe, but the district decided to release students early with buses arrived at schools at 1:30.
