MARSHALL, Minn. – Bodycam footage of a Marshall police officer fatally shooting a man who was stabbing a woman will not be released to the public.
Marshall Police Chief Jim Marshall said this critical incident has been difficult for the entire community. He said his decision is based on the fact this is a horrific murder of a domestic violence victim and mother. He added that it is also about the care and compassion of Meredith Martell and her family.
The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said Officer Eric Klenken used a Taser and shot Jamel Moore, 41, twice on Sunday morning.
Investigators said he was stabbing Martell and she later died in the hospital.
