FARGO, N.D. (NDSU Athletics)– North Dakota State head football coach Matt Entz announced Sunday, Dec. 10, that he will resign to accept a coaching position with another Division I university playing at the FBS level.
Entz will continue coaching the Bison through the FCS playoffs. NDSU (11-3) is scheduled to play at Montana in the NCAA FCS semifinals on Saturday, Dec. 16.
A search will begin immediately for NDSU’s next head football coach.
Entz, who joined the Bison program in 2014 as defensive coordinator, has a 60-10 record as head coach for five seasons from 2019 through 2023.
Entz has been part of six FCS national championships at NDSU, including two as head coach in 2019 and 2021. He was selected FCS National Coach of the Year by the American Football Coaches Association both of those years.
