MINNEAPOLIS (KFGO) – A federal jury has found a Minneapolis man guilty of receiving, possessing, and distributing child pornography.
According to prosecutors, in August 2020 through this January, 56-year-old Michael Hamer knowingly and frequently obtained, distributed, and accessed child sexual abuse material online. Hamer used email and social media to message minor victims, some as young as 11 years old, to request and distribute images and videos.
Hamer was previously convicted in Minnesota state court for soliciting a child to engage in sexual conduct.
Hamer was found guilty on four counts. A sentencing hearing will be scheduled at a later date.
