WASHINGTON – Minnesota will have its first Latino federal judge, after the U.S. Senate Tuesday confirmed President Biden’s appointment of state Court of Appeals Judge Jeffrey Bryan to the U.S. District Court bench.
Bryan is the third federal judge in Minnesota appointed by Biden.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar worked on the Judiciary Committee to advance Bryan’s nomination.
“As a former federal prosecutor and a current appellate judge with over two decades of legal experience, Bryan has spent his career serving the people of Minnesota,” Klobuchar said.
Sen. Tina Smith said Bryan’s confirmation is a testament to his considerable experience and commitment to the rule of law.
Since 2018, Bryan has been a finalist two times for openings on the Minnesota Supreme Court.
