It’s a new venue for the North Dakota Agricultural Association’s Agribusiness Expo this year. Held at the Fargodome in past years, the event has shifted to the Avalon Events Center in Fargo.
NDAA executive director Stu Letcher says they’ll have three ballrooms set up with agribusiness booths for the trade show.
“We want it to be more of an intimate networking event. So, it won’t be quite as much for space, but it will have just as many booths. I believe we have 85 booths will be set up between three ballrooms, so it’ll be kind of fun to go and explore and just see who’s out there.”
In the speaker lineup, Tuesday morning features a fertilizer market outlook with Andy Jung, vice president of market and strategic analysis with Mosaic.
“Fertilizer prices are always a big topic. Andy hopefully will be able to give us an outlook of ‘what does it look like in the fertilizer market?’ The Mississippi River plays a big role in that. So, hopefully he can give us a look ahead to what we can expect.”
Brent Boydston, the corn, cereal grains, digital agriculture and carbon lead at Bayer Crop Science, and newly elected chairman of the board of directors for the U.S. Grains Council, will give an industry update Tuesday afternoon at 2pm.
Wednesday morning at 7:30am features the NDSU Pesticide Recertification class in the Sheyenne Ballroom. A grain market update and outlook begins at 10:30am.
“It’s kind of become a tradition at our show to have Dr. Frayne Olson, Dr. Chad Hart and Randy Martinson from Martinson Risk Management. Those three kind of get up in front and just talk about grain markets and bounce ideas. They don’t always necessarily agree on what’s going to happen. So it’s really fun and interesting, we always learn a lot.”
There’s free admission and free parking, and a complimentary noon lunch on Tuesday, with a social hour from 4 to 5:30pm on Tuesday. The show concludes on Wednesday at 1 o’clock in the afternoon. The trade show runs from 9am to 5pm on Tuesday, 9am to 1pm on Wednesday.
