BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO) – Two men are in jail and facing a number of charges related to gun thefts in Bismarck.
According to police, 19-year-old Vincen Morales of Bismarck and 18-year-old Kyle Redtomahawk of Lincoln were arrested Wednesday.
Morales and Redtomahawk are accused of shoplifting ski masks from a store in Bismarck, fleeing police, and ditching guns before being caught.
Officers caught Redtomahawk in the Famous Dave’s parking lot. Morales, who was allegedly wearing a ski mask, was caught in a nearby residential yard. Police said officers found a stolen pistol in the Famous Dave’s dumpster and another one in the backyard where Morales was caught.
Redtomahawk and Morales are each being held for possessing a stolen gun, failure to halt, and possessing stolen property. Morales is also being held for wearing a mask during a crime.
According to the police department, there have been six incidents of guns being stolen from vehicles in Bismarck within the last week. Investigators are still searching for two rifles and a shotgun.
