FARGO (KFGO) – After an impasse was declared and both sides agreed to mediation, the union representing Fargo teachers has accepted a new contract with the school district.
The district’s negotiating committee is recommending that the school board accept the agreement. The contract covers the 2023-2025 school years.
The state fact finding commission had said the district’s proposed 3.5% pay increase over two years should be accepted along with other recommendations that included changes to the workday that had been sought by the union. The district negotiating committee also says that the board should provide retroactive payments to teachers.
The school board will consider the contract Monday morning. Teachers are not allowed to strike in North Dakota.
