FARGO (KFGO) – Two Fargo bars have been fined $500 each for violations of the city code. \
The Windbreak was fined for over-serving. The violation happened in August after police arrested a woman who had crashed her car after leaving the bar and had a near-.3 blood-alcohol level.
The Windbreak attorney Tim O’Keefe said staff did what they could after they realized the woman had too much to drink – including cutting her off, giving her water, and suggesting she get a safe ride home.
Liquor Control Board member and City Commissioner Dave Piepkorn said this isn’t the first problem at The Windbreak and it needs to be addressed.
The Old Broadway was fined for a server who did not complete training.
Owner Warren Ackley said the server signed up for the training, but didn’t finish. He said they have since changed their policy to have servers complete training before they get their first paycheck.
