CENTER CITY, Minn. – Authorities say the woman fatally shot in Chisago County on Friday was an Isanti County corrections nurse.
The Isanti County Sheriff’s Office says Sarah Carda was killed in a “senseless act of domestic violence.” Deputies say they heard gunshots when called to a disturbance in Fish Lake Township and 39-year-old Mike Carda was arrested after a four-hour standoff. Sarah was later found dead in the home.
Carda is facing charges including second-degree murder, domestic assault with a firearm, and assault of a peace officer.
Sarah Carda has worked as a registered nurse at the Isanti County jail since 2014.
