HUDSON, Wisc. – The United Auto Workers strike is now in its fourth week and Friday Democratic U.S. Sen. Tina Smith was in Wisconsin to show her support for those walking the picket line.
Smith was at an auto parts distribution center in Hudson where many workers from Minnesota have jobs. She said she shows up at picket lines every chance she gets.
“I think this action that the United Auto Workers is taking really gets at so much of the frustration that so many workers around this country feel when they see the billionaires getting richer and richer,” Smith said.
Smith said the strike is about making sure the success of the automakers is shared fairly with their employees.
