POLK COUNTY, Minn. (KFGO) – Four people went to area hospitals Tuesday after the minivan they were in crashed into a Polk County ditch after the driver swerved to avoid several deer.
The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened just after 6:00 p.m. on Polk County Road 252, near Crookston. The family’s van was traveling eastbound when it encountered the animals in the roadway.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office and Crookston Ambulance responded. The driver, 32-year-old Nichole Beito was taken to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. 37-year-old Marc Beito and two children ages 8 and 4 went to Riverview Hospital in Crookston. All four had non-life-threatening injuries.
