NIELSVILLE, Minn. (KFGO) – The body of a missing woman from central Minnesota has been found in a cornfield in Polk County of northwestern Minnesota. The woman’s car had been located nearby earlier.
The woman’s car was found abandoned on Sunday near Nielsville, about 22 miles southwest of Crookston. The woman had been reported as missing from Morrison County.
The 60-year-old woman was last seen leaving her home in Flensburg Saturday morning. She was supposed to be going to a residence in Todd County but never arrived.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says there are no public safety concerns. The Beltrami Fire Department assisted with the recovery of the woman’s body.
The body was taken to the UND School of Medicine Forensic Pathology Department for an autopsy and identification.
