EDINA, Minn. – A 17-year-old boy was arrested in Edina Friday morning in Minneapolis in connection to a threat made at Edina High School Thursday.
Police say the teenage boy took a Snapchat video of himself in the parking lot of the high school with a semi-automatic handgun and extended magazine in his lap. The caption in the video said, “Come outside,” and an expletive, and the end of the video showed the doors of the school. The boy then left the campus.
In partnership with the FBI, police worked overnight to identify the teenager, who is not a former or current student at Edina High School.
Out of an abundance of caution, the school district made the decision to move the high school and Valley View Middle School to online learning Friday.
The incident remains under investigation and no further public information is available at this time.
