ST. PAUL, Minn. – Gov. Tim Walz hopes to have the director of the new Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) hired this month.
OCM implementation director, Charlene Briner, said a lot of people are interested in overseeing the state’s new legal cannabis industry. There were initially 150 applicants for the position followed by first- and second-round interviews.
The Office of Cannabis Management will regulate recreational marijuana, the state’s medical program, and THC hemp edibles and drinks.
Briner said the new state agency is looking to hire about 150 employees.
