
MINOT, N.D. (KFGO) – Names have been released in a three-car crash in Minot that injured five people Friday morning around 10:30 while an officer attempted to investigate a report of drug activity.
The driver sped off when the Ward County Drug Task Force agent identified himself.
The agents did not pursue the suspects. As they went through an intersection, their vehicle hit an SUV causing it to spin and hit a second SUV.
Two of the four people in the first SUV were hurt. The 76-year-old man driving suffered minor injuries. The 71-year-old female from Bismarck, who sustained serious injuries during the incident, is in stable condition at Trinity Hospital. All three suspects were taken to the hospital for evaluation. No one in the second SUV was hurt.
The fleeing suspect was 37-year-old Rusty James Mason of New Town.
Mason is being charged with the following: possession with the intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, fleeing a peace officer, and aggravated reckless driving. Mason was transported to the Ward County Jail.
The investigation is still active, and additional charges may be pending.

MINOT, N.D. (KFGO) – A suspect who fled from law enforcement in Minot Friday morning caused a three-car crash that injured five people.
According to Minot Police, the Ward County Drug Task Force was investigating a report of drug activity when an agent walked toward a suspect vehicle with three people in it. When the agent identified himself, the driver sped off.
The agents did not pursue the suspects. As they went through an intersection, their vehicle hit an SUV causing it to spin and hit a second SUV.
Two of the four people in the first SUV were hurt. The 76-year-old man driving suffered minor injuries. A 71-year-old woman suffered serious injuries. Her condition has not been released.
All three suspects were taken to the hospital for evaluation. No one in the second SUV was hurt.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and charges are pending. Names will be released once charges are determined.
