Media members got a sneak peek at what’s on tap for the Peterson Farms Seed annual Field Insights Day coming up in September. The day will feature extensive agronomic studies, and opportunities to hear from expert speakers on specific ag challenges and innovations.
Lead agronomist Rick Swenson says, “It all boils down to bringing more yield back to the grower. It’s all about new topics, bringing topics back in and then totally expand on them, to turn them into something tangible that we can actually do to improve yield. It’s one thing to talk about it, it’s another to come up with solutions and help growers come up with a way to increase yield with the challenges we’re facing.”
Growers can tour 160 acres of agronomic studies, highlighting 18 years of testing combined into findings on where farmers can find increases in yield and avoid problems for their farms.
Experts at the Field Insights Day will cover several topics:
The Spread of Cyst Nematode with NDSU Extension plant pathologist Dr. Sam Markell
Gene Editing: What is it? How will I benefit?
Yield Enhancement and Preservation Studies
Deep Dive into 10 Types of Seed Treatments/Biologicals
Combine Clinic
New “Crop” Opportunities for Profit

The free event takes place on Thursday, September 7th, 9am to 3:30pm at Peterson Farms Seed headquarters, 6 miles north of Mapleton on County Road 11, and 1 mile east.
