(KFGO/KNFL) Zach LaMont threw a complete game, allowing only one unearned run, as Fargo Post 2 defeated Eden Prairie, MN 6-2 in the opening round of the Central Plains Regional Legion Baseball Tournament in Rapid City.
Post 2 jumped out early with three runs in the bottom of the first inning off Eden Prairie started Jackson Hunter.. Charlie Kalbrener hit a two-run double, and Jaxon Beiswenger added an RBI single.
Jordan Leininger added an RBI single in the fifth inning and drove home another run on a bases-loaded walk in the sixth inning.
LaMont scattered nine hits, walking three and striking out first.
Hunter took the loss, walking nine batters in 5 2/3 innings. He allowed six earned runs on six hits.
Post 2 will face host Rapid City on Thursday night in the winners bracket.
