MOORHEAD (KFGO) – The Moorhead City Council has interviewed six candidates who want to be the next Ward 4 City Council member.
The questions ranged from why the candidates were interested in serving on the council, how they view the expanding city, changes, economic development, and compelling city issues.
Mayor Shelly Carlson says a decision on the appointment will be by a simple majority vote on Aug. 14.
That candidate is expected to be officially sworn into office on Sept. 11.
Council Member Steve Lindaas resigned on June 26. His last day is Aug. 31. He is leaving to work with the Department of Energy in Washington, D.C.
Five of the candidates were interviewed at Monday’s City Council meeting and one candidate attended online.
