According to the latest crop progress numbers from USDA, soybean conditions slipped in North Dakota and Minnesota in the week ending July 9, 2023.
In North Dakota, 51 percent of soybeans were rated good to excellent as of Sunday, down 6 percent from the week earlier. Soybeans in Minnesota rated good to excellent were pegged at 61 percent good to excellent, down 3 percent from the prior week’s report.
Corn in good to excellent shape in North Dakota for the week was rated at 67 percent , up 5 percent from the prior week, while Minnesota corn was rated 61 percent good to excellent, steady with the prior week.
For topsoil moisture, 32 percent of North Dakota was rated very short to short, 64 percent adequate, 4 percent surplus. Minnesota topsoil was rated 54 percent very short to short, 45 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus.
