BLAINE, MINN. – Authorities in Anoka County are investigating two emergency landings by aircraft over the weekend.
The Blaine Police Department says a Cessna 172 safely landed Saturday afternoon and no one was hurt. The pilot declared an emergency because the plane was experiencing low oil pressure as it approached the Anoka County Blaine Airport.
Lino Lakes police and firefighters responded to a lightweight experimental aircraft that landed in a holding pond around 8 pm Saturday. Officers say the pilot was the lone occupant and wasn’t injured. There were no reports of damage in the area.
