WEST FARGO (KFGO/KVRR) – The Red River Valley Fair is back and officials say this is the best version yet as they welcome in new top tier talent for the grandstand, a mini market for small business owners, and of course fair food.
“So many things that the public may not know what happens behind the scenes to put the fair on and bring it together, but we’re so excited to have everyone here and on the grounds for the best ten days of summer,” Director of Marketing and Events Elizabeth Birkmeyer said.
Birkmeyer said there are new things to check out this year, including a ‘blue raz cotton candy sour’ from Drekker Brewing, an air conditioned Kids’ Zone with interactive games and face painting, Square at the Fair marketplace, and a renovated Agriculture Education Center.
Those attending the fair can also meet Big Roy, the Fair’s new mascot named after Roy Faught.
“He is a past board member who played an integral role in helping bring the fairgrounds to what it is today,” Birkmeyer said.
Birkmeyer said if you see Big Roy, feel free to give him a hug and a high-five.
The fair is set to run through July 16.
