
MINNEAPOLIS – Two people are now charged with shooting fireworks at Minneapolis squad cars on 4th of July night.
According to prosecutors, 18-year-old Zamir Yassin is accused of firing a Roman candle at a patrol vehicle near Lake Bde Maka Ska in south Minneapolis. Officers said Yassin was still holding a launching tube when he was taken into custody.
Fireworks also hit people, trees and houses in the area.
The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office is also charging a 17-year-old boy from Columbia Heights with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and fleeing police for an incident at Boom Island Park.
