DULUTH, Minn. – The Department of Natural Resources is lifting burning restrictions at 6 p.m. Monday in Carlton, Cook, Lake and St. Louis counties in northeastern Minnesota.
Officials said recent rainfall has reduced the wildfire risk in the area. It removes restrictions on campfires, fireworks and burning permits for brush and yard waste.
“While conditions have improved, we’re not fully out of the woods with fire danger this summer,” Wildfire prevention specialist Karen Harrison said.
The Superior National Forest also eased burning restrictions Monday.
