PINE POINT, Minn. (KFGO) – One man is in the Becker County Jail and another man was taken to the hospital after a suspected stabbing in Pine Point, Minnesota Thursday morning.
According to the Becker County Sheriff’s Office, a report came in shortly before 2:30 a.m. that a man had been stabbed. When officers arrived, they found 34-year-old James Kettle of Ponsford, Minnesota suffering from a stab wound to the chest.
Kettle was conscious and taken to Essentia in Detroit Lakes. His condition has not been released.
The suspect, 25-year-old Marcus Waybenais of Walker, Minnesota, left before officers arrived, but was found and arrested several hours later in the same area as the alleged stabbing.
Waybenais is facing possible 1st and 2nd degree assault charges.
Earlier this week in Pine Point, a man was shot and killed. An arrest warrant has been issued for the man suspected in his death.
