BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO) – A 16-year-old girl was shot and killed in Bismarck late Sunday night and a 19-year-old man is in custody on suspicion of her murder.
The fatal shooting happened around 11:45 p.m. at an apartment in north Bismarck. Police say they received numerous calls for shots fired. Responding officers found the girl and she was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
After an initial investigation, 19-year-old Corbin Lampert of Bismarck was located and arrested Monday morning shortly after 9:00 a.m. He is being held on murder charges at the Burleigh Morton Detention Center.
Investigators are continuing to follow-up on leads, and interview possible witnesses. The name of the 16-year-old girl is being withheld until the family can notify other next of kin.
