LAKE COUNTY, Minn. – As the wildfire in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area continues to burn, officials have begun to fight the fire from above.
Superior National Forest officials said the fire started Tuesday afternoon with a coverage of 30 acres about ten miles west of the Gunflint trail.
After a delay due to low cloud coverage, crews have started fighting the fire from the air with ground crews brought in by a float plane.
