MINNEAPOLIS (KFGO) – Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz announced Tuesday that Target Center in Minneapolis will host the 2024 U.S. Gymnastics Olympic Trials.
The gymnastics trials for both men and women will take place June 27-30, 2024 to fill Team USA for next year’s Olympic Summer Games in Paris.
St. Paul native and 2021 gold-medalist Suni Lee joined Walz for the announcement. In April, Lee said she was stepping away from gymnastics at Auburn University citing health concerns. However, she plans to compete for a spot in Paris and is expected to be a favorite.
St. Louis and Omaha also bid to host the trials. St. Louis hosted the gymnastics trials in 2021, and drew a single-session record 20,815 fans.
