ST. PAUL, Minn. – An 18-year-old is the second person charged in connection to the death of St. Paul youth hockey coach, Michael Brasel.
In the criminal complaint filed Thursday, Ta Mla was charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder for Brasel’s death on May 6.
Kle Swee, 17, his accomplice, was charged a month ago in juvenile court for two counts of the same crime, and has now also been moved to adult court.
Brasel’s son was inside the home at the time and told police he heard his father yell, “what are you doing,” before hearing gunshots. Witnesses described a black car with tinted windows and a loud exhaust that was seen speeding away.
A GoFundMe account to support Brasel’s wife and 2 sons has raised more than $230,000.
